Voice typing in Notion on a Mac

Set this up once and dictate into any Notion block, database item, or comment using Voice Type.

Install and set a hotkey

  1. Install Voice Type from the Mac App Store.
  2. Open Voice Type settings and choose a hotkey (Control + V is a popular choice).
  3. Open Notion and place your cursor in a block.

Dictate

  1. Press your hotkey to start Voice Type.
  2. Speak naturally. Say punctuation when needed.
  3. Release (or tap) the hotkey to stop. The text appears exactly where the cursor lives.

Works in any page or database

Voice Type behaves like a user typing. Use it in databases, toggle lists, callouts, comments—anywhere Notion accepts text input. The same hotkey works in every app, so you can move between Notion, email, and your IDE without reconfiguring.
